Good morning from somewhere out in the Mediterranean Sea!
Well, we finally landed at 11:40 Tel Aviv time. That's 4:40 in the morning, home time. We're staying in Tel Aviv for just this day, and our tour starts bright and early tomorrow morning at 8:00.

For some reason, the shape of the terminal and the outbuildings at Ben Gurrion Airport reminded me of the old Douglas Terminal in Charlotte. But the outside surroundings don't look like anything like Charlotte. For that matter, neither does the inside. After a trip through immigration services we picked up our luggage and took a cab to our hotel. Most of the cabs here are C-series Mercedes.

I have no idea if this area of town is representative of Tel Aviv, but here are some shots taken from the cab on the way to the hotel.

As son as we hit the room we crashed for a couple of hours.
The hotel is fairly nice and has a simply gorgeous view of the Mediterranean Sea from our room.
This is looking out the other way.
There's a park right across the street, and as the sun went down we ran over to the park to get a closeup view of the sunset.

There are two mosques in the area. One is just about next to the hotel and the other can be seen in the distance. They light the towers in these mosques with green lights that I thought looked kind of eerie.

So, that's about it. Other than a nice meal in the hotel, this is all we did today! Again, the tour starts tomorrow and we are turning in early tonight to try and catch up some more of the sleep we lost in the 20+ hour trip coming over here.
I'm not sure when I'll be updating again, but God willing, It won't be too long. If you want to make sure you haven't missed anything, remember to hit f5 on your browser to make it manually update the web page.
Blessings and our love from Israel!
